Research On Rural Women’s Work In Jiangxi During The Land Reform Period(1950-1952)

This paper will discuss the development background,implementation conditions,guidelines and measures and overall results of rural women’s work in Jiangxi with the time of land reform from 1950 to 1952.Before the land reform,rural women in Jiangxi generally did not have independent economic status.Grassroots women’s organizations were extremely imperfect,and women had a strong inferiority complex and worried.They were also deeply oppressed by the traditional marriage system,which also reflected the new China’s land reform.The necessity and arduousness of rural women’s work in Jiangxi during the period.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the Central People’s Government promulgated the "Common Program of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference",the "Marriage Law of the People’s Republic of China" and the "Agrarian Reform Law of the People’s Republic of China",giving Jiangxi women the right to participate in politics,land property ownership,and marriage autonomy.In order to successfully complete the land reform task and guarantee women’s legal rights,Jiangxi promoted a new type of women’s policy and promoted the establishment of a new type of women’s organization,the Jiangxi Provincial Women’s Federation and the women’s federations of various regions,which worked for women in this period.Provide organizational guarantees.In 1950-95,the main content of rural women’s work in Jiangxi was to cooperate with the land reform work.In the process of mobilizing women to participate in the land reform,the local party and government organs and mass organizations carried out the policy of launching men and women together and effectively guaranteed the legal rights of women,which was warmly welcomed by the majority of women.Jiangxi’s measures to mobilize women to participate in land reform mainly include:expanding publicity and dispelling women’s ideological concerns;visiting the poor and asking for hardships;arranging the roots;complaining to the series,expanding the ranks;improving the grassroots women’s organizations,purifying the cadres;Improve women’s awareness.The steady advancement of these five measures has enabled about 60% of women in the province to be mobilized to participate in land reform.The achievements of women’s work in Jiangxi during the land reform periodhave made great achievements,mainly including promoting the smooth completion of land reform,consolidating and perfecting grassroots women’s organizations,restoring and developing rural production,and promoting the liberation of rural women.However,there are also some shortcomings,such as the incompleteness of women’s thoughts,the incomplete implementation of the guidelines for men’s and women’s mobilization,the incomplete implementation of the Marriage Law,and the lack of clarity on the economic rights of women in the land reform.
