| English writing is an important part in English learning which can reflect students’ language comprehensive ability.Meanwhile,English writing is also a weak link in English teaching.The traditional English writing teaching in middle school mainly adopts the method of teacher feedback which ignores the students’ principal position so that the phenomenon that teachers spend a lot of time and efforts on correcting students’ composition while the students only focus on the grades happens frequently.Thus,the improvement of writing teaching methods has attracted the attention of many experts and scholars.In the 1970 s,peer feedback has gradually become an important part of writing teaching in English-speaking countries.In China,some scholars have done some experimental researches on this method in universities,vocational colleges and senior high schools,but few of them apply it to junior high school English writing teaching.What’s more,fewer of them focus on the English narrative writing.Therefore,this research aims to investigate the effects of peer feedback on junior English narrative writing teaching.Based on the theories of cooperative learning and process writing,this study applies the peer feedback to English narrative writing teaching in junior high school to explore junior high school students’ attitude(mainly Grade 3 students)towards peer feedback and the effects of peer feedback on the accuracy of language expression in English narrative writing.In order to explore the two questions above,the author selects Class 5,Grade 9,Honggui Middle School in Shenzhen as the research participants.This study mainly adopts the research methods of questionnaire,interview,tests to collect data.At last,through the analysis and discussion of the data,the research results can be summarized as follows: firstly,most of students have a positive attitude towards peer feedback,and they hope that peer feedback can continue to be used in the future writing class.Secondly,the application of peer feedback helps to reduce the common mistakes in English narrative writing,so as to make the students’ language expression becomes accurate gradually.Finally,the experiment proves that peer feedback plays an active role in English writing teaching of junior high school and also has certain guidance and reference significance for junior high school English writing teaching.Peer feedback can be an important supplementary form of teacher feedback,and teachers should always play the role of guider and supervisor in this process.The writing teaching in junior high school can be improved through the flexible application of peer feedback. |
