Chinese listening self-efficacy expresses the subject judgment to control their listening ability and listening confidence.This dissertation aims to explore the listening self-efficacy of intermediate Chinese students,and the relation with academic achievement in Chinese listening as well as the influence of individual factors.The researcher developed a 25-item questionnaire based on 5 types of self-efficacy beliefs.This questionnaire was administered to a total of 76 international students who from Overseas Education College of Xiamen University.The result showed that:(1)The performance of Chinese listening self-efficacy of international st.udents is good.(2)Chinese listening self-efficacy is positively correlated with academic achievement in Chinese listening.The influence of Chinese listening self-efficacy to academic achievement is predictability,and the academic achievement can also affect Chinese listening self-efficacy.(3)There is less visible difference about the individual factors in Chinese listening self-efficacy.However,the international student' s Chinese listening self-efficacy showed a high-low-high trend with t.he increase of studying period.And it declined with increasing age.Chinese listening self-efficacy has significantly differences on national and regional factors.Japanese and Korean students have the higher level of self-efficacy on control capability and environment capability.Southeast Asian students show the highest level of self-efficacy on the whole.The Euramerican student have the lowest level of Chinese list.ening self-efficacy on the whole.This study,to some extent,makes up the study of Chinese single ability in the filed of self-efficacy,and has the significance in the filed of learning Chinese as a second language and offered teachers some teaching implications on exploring students' performance and Chinese listening self-efficacy.
