Nanchang is a city supported by its modern agriculture,advanced industry and flourishing tourism,enjoying the reputation of “A Modern Garden City” and “A City of Heroes”.Since the city opened to the outside,it has attracted plenty of tourists at home and abroad with its unique features as being revolutionary,green and ancient.In tourism activities,guide interpreting is indispensable.The report based on the simulated guide interpreting of five classical scenic spots in Nanchang,namely,Tengwang Pavilion,Qiushui Square,Nanchang August 1st Memorial Hall,Nanchang Wanda Aquarium and Star of Nanchang Ferris Wheel,studies specific cases of the practice from four perspectives of Adaptation Theory:contextual correlates of adaptability,structural objects of adaptability,dynamics of adaptability and salience of adaptability,which emphasizes on the analysis of cross-cultural problems in interpreting and corresponding interpreting skills under the guidance of Adaptation Theory.And it's hoped that the report can help other guide interpreters and the culture of Nanchang city can be better promoted.The report finds that guide interpreting is interesting,challenging and important;interpreting skills on the basis of Adaptation Theory like transliteration,free translation,literal translation,supplementation,omission,logic restructuring and definition can be adopted to solve the difficulties in guide interpreting;preparations,abilities of interpreters as well as post summaries are also essential for the interpreting practice.
