| India is a complex country with a splendid civilization and a backward thought that is hard to change.Since its birth,Indian films have been developing and progressing continuously because of the love of the domestic people.Since the 1990 s,Indian films have begun to produce a large number of high-quality products,showing their own characteristics.Among them,the change of women's image is particularly obvious.To study this aspect,on the one hand,we can see clearly the development trend of Indian film,on the other hand,we can see the change of women's rights in India.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper is divided into four parts to study the new trends of female images in Indian films since the new century.The first part is to sort out the female images in Indian films before the new century.From the period of celibacy,the period of voice to the new film movement until the beginning of this century,it can be found that the female images in Indian films mainly revolve around family,men and women.The image revolves around three aspects of suffering.The second part discusses the female images in Indian films in the new century.One is to show the awakening and resistance of women in the family,the other is to show women's abilities and working conditions in the workplace,the third is women's resistance and control to the patriarchal society,and the fourth is young Indian women's betrayal and resistance to tradition.The third part is to analyze and discuss the reasons for the change of female images in Indian films,mainly the emergence of history,religion,caste system and modern feminism in India.The fourth part mainly explains the unique charm of female images in Indian films,and compares them with Asian films,especially with Japan and Korea.Generally speaking,the trend of female images in Indian films in the new century coincides with the "individual is politics" advocated by the new feminism,emphasizing the awakening of female individuals. |
