As one of the four basic skills of English learning,English writing plays a very important role in English teaching in junior high school.Writing is an important way of language output.The level of learners’ writing can often demonstrate their language literacy and language skills.Meanwhile,English reading and writing are considered to be very important parts of the four basic skills in English learning,and they are connected with each other.Therefore,in the English learning of junior high school students,teachers should fully stimulate their interest,make them fall in love with reading and enjoy writing,in order to help students lay a solid foundation for later English learning.It is obvious that junior high school students are inclined to unconsciously memorize.They often remember the materials well that they are interested in,but they can’t remember the difficult materials.Because the picture books themselves are easily accepted by junior high school students,junior high school students can read them with interest.Therefore,we should combine picture book reading with English writing to promote the output ability of junior high school students through high-efficiency input,in order to fundamentally improve the comprehensive writing ability of junior high school students.However,the current English writing teaching is not optimistic.Therefore,this research is based on the Krashen’s comprehensible input hypothesis,effective filter hypothesis,Flower and Hayes’ s cognitive process theory of writing and Swain’s output theory.And the author chose the students of two parallel classes in the eighth grade of Zhou Jiaba Junior High School in Kang County as subjects to carry out a two-month English writing teaching experiment based on picture book reading by means of tests,questionnaires and interview.The control class used the product-oriented writing approach,while the experimental class used English writing teaching based on picture book reading.This thesis mainly discussed the following two issues:1)Can the application of picture book reading improve junior high school students’ English writing achievement?2)Can the application of picture book reading arouse junior high school students’ English writing interest?This research used the SPSS 22.0 to analyze the results of the experiment.The author found that the English writing scores and English writing interest of the experimental class students were significantly higher than the pre-test and control class.Therefore,it can be said that the picture book reading can help junior high school students improve their English writing achievement and arouse their interest in English writing.So there is no doubt that this teaching mode has achieved good results in the experimental class’ s English writing teaching. |
