The vocal music exists independently rather than being dependent on instrumental mu-sic.That is not only because the vocal music boasts the characteristics of beauty.More-over,thanks to our human language,this art become more vivid and specific among many arts categories.So we can know that language is the basis of singing which is the art based on language.And all skills of singing focus on language.In our national vocal music,there has always been a strong emphasis on the clarity and accuracy of language as a saying goes:“The word is bone and the tempo is meat." There is even a saying that“Reading aside is more important than singing a song." All these illustrate that language is always an important factor in singing.Taking the art song "on the Jialing river" as an example,this paper expounds that there are many similarities between speaking and singing.Chapter one describes the physical and physiological similarities between speech and singing.In this chapter,the author expounds that speaking and singing are the same physiological system and that speech and singing are the same physical phenomenon.The second chapter,mainly talked about two aspects of content,one is the speaking and singing breathing mode is consistent;Second,the speaking and singing words sound process is consistent.The third chapter talks about four aspects.One is that the emotional expression of speaking and singing is basically similar.Second,the psychological state of speaking and singing is basically similar.Third,the sound effects of speaking and singing are basically similar.Fourth,speaking and singing are similar.So this article will express a view that "speaking is singing,and singing is speak-ing" through the physiological and physical science,the skills and the artistic expression of speaking and singing.
