Today, with more and more frequent intercultural communication,it has become an important job to “improve cultural confidence and promote the export of Chinese culture”,which makes the translation of excellent Chinese literature works more important.Since the 1970 s,with the emergence of a cultural shift in translation studies, the theory of cultural translation came into being. The cultural translation theory emphasizes that culture is the basic unit of translation, and translators should value the transmission of cultural information. The equivalence of translation is the equivalence of cultural information. And translation is affected by historical background. In this translation project, guided by the cultural translation theory, the translator translated a short story written by Lu Min entitled “Accompanying Banquets”,a Lu Xun Literature Prize winning work. This work is concerned with traditional Chinese folk music and contains many culture-loaded words with Chinese cultural characteristics.Whether to handle of these cultural factors correctly affects the quality of the translation directly. In this report, the writer will analyze translator's translation from the perspective of cultural translation and with characteristics of literary works taken into consideration. The following translation methods are mainly discussed: literal translation, free translation, annotation, addition and omission. At the same time, the write concludes that the importance of cultural information in the translation process is further verified.Translators should use the translation methods flexibly in the translation process to better convey cultural information.
