Study Of Doctor Images In Chekhov’s Dramas

Chekhov created a new theatrical genre,Psychological Realism Drama,on the basis of integrating the experience of European "New Drama Movement" and Russian Psychodrama.This paper chooses the doctor images in his representative plays Pradonov,Ivanov,Forest Demon,Seagull,Three Sisters and Uncle Vanya.According to whether they have stage events in the play,these doctor images are divided into stage events and no stage events.Among them,the doctor images without stage events are created by Qi.The main techniques of Koufu’s psycho-realist theatrical view are embodied in a concentrated way.Chekhov’s portrayal of these doctors without stage events mainly involves the externalization of psychological twists,the portrayal of characters and the dilution of external plots by actions without stage events.Although most of the doctors without stage events are not the main characters and few lines in the drama,their dramatic display not only conveys profound social life implications,but also broadens the field of dramatic expression.This dramatic technique,which mainly expresses the inner psychology of the characters,has set off a trend of dramatic transformation in European countries.Doctors without stage events in Chekhov’s plays are not only the important carriers of Chekhov’s psychological realism,but also the representation of the image of intellectuals in Chekhov’s plays.Therefore,from the perspective of drama analysis,this paper attempts to sort out and summarize the doctor images in his representative works Pradonov,Ivanov,Forest Demon,Uncle Vanya,Seagull and Three Sisters in order to draw the way and characteristics of Chekhov’s psychological realism in shaping the characters’ images.
