Under the market economy,a large number of rural young and middle-aged people have been working abroad for a long time.The modern media has been popularized in rural areas.The relationship between villagers has gradually become unfamiliar.The traditional culture of the countryside has become more and more low,and the traditional organization and authority have weakened.The traditional "acquaintance society" is disintegrating.Some scholars have suggested that "acquaintance society" should be transformed into "semi-acquaintance society" or "no subject acquaintance society" or "stranger society".Under the diversification of rural social media and rural interpersonal communication methods,the open-air film "returns" to the countryside,which makes the rural society form a "new" interpersonal communication mode,that is,interpersonal communication in the watching of rural open-air movies.This paper studies the interpersonal communication in the observation of rural open-air movies from the perspective of acquaintance society.Taking Yuechi County of Sichuan Province as an example,this paper explains the related concepts of interpersonal communication in rural open-air movie viewing through participatory observation and questionnaires.The overview of the village open-air film and rural film project in Yuechi County,depicting the elements of the interpersonal communication place of the rural open-air film,exploring the ways,types,characteristics and functions of interpersonal communication in the place,and thinking about the influence of the rural open-air film screening on the rural society.This paper first defines the relevant concepts of interpersonal communication in rural open-air movie viewing,including open-air movies,social perspectives of acquaintances,interpersonal communication,etc.,and presents a policy overview of rural open-air movies.This paper describes the general situation of rural open-air movies under the rural public service system.Taking Yuechi County of Sichuan Province as an example,this paper analyzes the implementation of rural film screening projects in Yuechi County.Secondly,this paper depicts the elements of the interpersonal communication place of the rural open-air film,trying to present a figurative picture.Screening venues,show times,and film selections provide an opportunity for “acquaintance society” to enhance interpersonal communication between villagers and enhance close relationships.The screening venue has public features,mainly in the center of the village,the village dam and other places.The show time has a clustering feature,mainly in the summer evening and the New Year,which is determined by the policy and the projectionist.The film selection is based on the farmers’ viewing needs,but still has a modular character.This paper analyzes the film show of the open-air film in Yuechi County from 2008 to 2018.The film is mainly composed of feature films.The film type is mainly drama.Regarding the viewing group,the questionnaire showed that among the respondents,the ratio of male to female was 51%: 49%,and most of the 60-year-old viewers.Most of the viewers are farmers,and most of them are primary school graduates.Young people are the “rare customers” who watch movies.Some college students may encounter an open-air movie during their holiday home.The villagers’ motives for viewing movies are diversified,mainly by watching movies,watching liveliness,spending time,leisure,working with friends and family,and promoting neighborhood relations.This paper believes that in the acquaintance social field,the interpersonal communication methods in the rural open-air movie viewing mainly include high-frequency greetings,strong entertainment chats,and public gossip.In the country open-air movie viewing,the villagers’ high-frequency greetings mainly include “come,sit on the bench” and “watch movies”.In this place,the contents of the villagers’ chats are varied,but there are still traces,mainly film clips,daily production work,children’s study and work,and news around them.This paper discusses the types,characteristics and functions of interpersonal communication in rural open-air movie viewing from the perspective of acquaintance society,and considers the influence of rural open-air film screening on rural society.The study found that in the social field of acquaintances,the types of interpersonal communication in the place are mainly human relationship communication,emotional relationship interpersonal communication,etc.It embodies the needs and interactions of the villagers.The interpersonal communication in the place presents a strong entertainment feature,forming a public space between formal and informal rural society,which is generally equal and two-way communication.The interpersonal communication in the place maintains the heat of the “acquaintance society”,and has the functions of satisfying the self-expression of the villagers,maintaining the strong relationship between the villagers,and promoting the harmony of interpersonal relationships in rural society.The influence of rural open-air film screening on rural society is mainly to enrich the rural social communication mode and promote rural governance activities,but it may dispel the rural folk culture.The projectionists should do a good job of screening the “gatekeepers” at the grassroots level.The relevant supervision departments of Yuechi County should also seriously carry out rural film work and attach importance to the conflict between open-air movies and traditional folk culture in rural society.The study found that in the current rural society,a large number of young people go out to work,rural society is hollow,and rural society is moving toward "atomicization".However,for left-behind villagers,the existing "main body" as a rural society is still in the open-air movie viewing place.Conduct a rich interpersonal communication campaign.The rural open-air film provides a place for interpersonal communication for the “main body” of the villagers,and the villagers conduct frequent interpersonal communication.Among them,the villagers in a natural village are familiar with each other,and under this opportunity,they maintain a strong relationship between the villagers.In the villages of an administrative village,they have a common administrative space,but lack a common living space,and rural open-air movies provide a platform for establishing familiar relationships.In the transition from the traditional "acquaintance society" to the "semi-acquaintance society",under the influence of television,mobile phones and other media,the village open-air film provides a villager’s interpersonal communication place that can maintain face-to-face and frequent interactions.In the rural open-air movie viewing,the villagers conduct interpersonal communication activities to enhance mutual familiarity,enhance mutual intimacy,promote interpersonal relationship harmony,and maintain rural social value norms.
