A Consecutive Interpreting Report On FCBEscola

This English to Chinese consecutive interpreting practice report is based on the FCBEscola's football program carried out in Mission Hills,Haikou from July to August 2017.This thesis applies translation variation theory to guide football interpreting,because it lies in "more,faster,better and economical",which are targeted to absorb source information.Meanwhile,this paper is aims to provide suggestions and guidance for football players and interpreters.It can be divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the task background and then points out the characteristics and the significance of football interpreting.The second chapter is the interpretation process review,including the pre-task preparation(terminology,background,course materials collation and pre-interpretation communication).Besides,the interpreting process and the post-interpreting reflection has also been separately presented in the second chapter.The third part gives an introduction to the football interpreting,which contains research status and the overview of Translation Variation Theory.The fourth chapter is the main body of this thesis.The author has analyzed the difficulties including terminology,hesitation,revision as well as mistranslation in football consecutive interpreting by examining different cases.This chapter combines interpreting method with specific cases,which are carried out from three aspects:Addition,Condensation and Transformation.The conclusion in the final chapter summarizes the difficulties and problems in the interpreting process,in the meantime,it provides some suggestions and references for future football consecutive interpreters.
