The Application Of Suspense In Narrative Narration Of Documentaries

Authenticity is the primary principle of documentary creation,so respecting authenticity is a requisite professional quality for documentary creators.Whereas authenticity can also become a barrier as documentary creators always ignore the aesthetic needs of the audience in the pursuit of authenticity,which makes the works very dull.In order to break this situation,some creators tried to introduce narrative methods from feature films into documentary creation,which was widely recognized by the majority of people in this field.Therefore,the story-oriented narration in documentaries has gradually matured during the exploration by a flood of creators.After a lot of researches and also combined them with my own creative practice,the author found that suspense setting is an important means to achieve the storytelling narration in documentaries,and it gives new vitality to documentaries.In the graduation work,the author explored the application of suspense in documentary storytelling based on the combination of predecessor's thoughts and her own creation works,which has a certain significance for both theory and practice.This paper explains the topic selection,creation,and other aspects,and conducts indepth theoretical and practical research on the application of suspense in documentary creation by means of research methods such as copywriting,case studies and creative practice.The introduction describes the research background and current research situation;the first chapter explains the background,significance and application of suspense in the topic selection of graduation work A Letter;the second chapter,as the focus of the full text,mainly analyses the application of suspense in documentaries from narrative,montage,voice,and other aspects;the third chapter mainly focuses on the summarize of practical creation and research,and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of their own creative practice,and then make prospects for documentary creation.
