| This paper is a translation project report.The original text is from Chapter 5 and Chapter 6 of Little Panic: Dispatches from an Anxious Life,written by American writer Amanda Stern in 2018.This book is a confession of anxiety patients.Chapter 5 mainly describes the childhood of the author after her parents separated.Chapter 6 mainly describes the author’s love experience.In this book,the author describes a lot of her growth experience,analyses the motivation behind her behavior,and puts forward her own views on anxiety.In this report,Eugene Nida’s functional equivalence theory is adopted as the guidance to analyze and summarize the difficulties encountered in the translation practice and the solutions.In terms of the translation of passive voice and long and difficult sentences,amplification,conversion and inversion are mainly adopted to improve the translation quality under the guidance of functional equivalence theory.Finally,the enlightenment and problem to be solved are concluded. |
