Based on theories of pragmatics and subjectivity,this paper aims to establish a basic system of pragmatic functions of the adverb jiu and provide feasible suggestions for teaching Chinese as a second language.Applying the methods of literature research,corpus,questionnaire,the adverb jiu is studied from the perspective of pragmatics and teaching Chinese as a second language.This paper has six parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the reason,significance,related concepts and definitions,research methods and ideas,and summarizes the relevant research literature.The second part is the semantic analysis of the adverb jiu,which rearranges the meanings of the adverb jiu through the literature research method,and obtains the three-layer semantic system of the adverb jiu.On this basis,we analyze the overall semantic characteristics of the adverb jiu:to express a certain tendency to tighten on subjective judgment.The third part is the pragmatic analysis of the adverb jiu.It studies the pragmatic conditions of the adverb jiu through the corpus method(Beijing language and culture university BCC modern Chinese corpus),and analyzes and sorts out nine basic pragmatic functions of the adverb jiu according to the specific context.The fourth part is a survey on the pragmatic teaching of the adverb jiu in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,through the survey method(questionnaire,interview),investigated and studied the practical situation of the adverb jiu in the pragmatic teaching of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and through the analysis of the results of the survey,it is concluded that the characteristics of pragmatic teaching of adverb jiu in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,including teaching contents,teaching distribution,teaching difficulty,teaching obstacles,teaching methods and teaching effects.The fifth part is the suggestions on the pragmatic teaching of the adverb jiu in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.According to the practical situation of the pragmatic teaching of the adverb jiu,some feasible suggestions are put forward for the pragmatic teaching of the adverb jiu in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The sixth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the innovation and deficiency of this paper.The main innovation points of this paper are as follows:under the guidance of subjectivization theory and relevant pragmatics theories,through the analysis and arrangement of relevant literature,the semantic hierarchy system of adverb jiu is sorted out by taking the objects(time,quantitative range,logical relationship,emotional attitude)related to the adverb jiu as clues.On this basis,the paper concludes and analyzes the overall semantic characteristics of the adverb jiu:to express a certain tendency to tighten on subjective judgment.On the basis of clarifying the basic semantics of the adverb jiu,by screening the relevant corpus of the adverb jiu in the BCC Modern Chinese Corpus of Beijing Language and Culture University,analyzes and sorts out the pragmatic hierarchy system of the adverb jiu and determines the basic pragmatics of the adverbyjiu:(1)when the adverb jiu refers to the time,jiu implies something done quickly;(2)when the adverb jiu refers to a point in the past,jiu implies that a certain state has lasted for a long time;(3)when the adverb jiu refers to the point at which something will start in the future,jiu implies that there is little time left and time is tight;(4)when the adver jiu refers to the point at which something will end in the future,and the event is not directly related to the target of the language user or the subject of the speech ac(if opposite,it's the same as pragmatics(3))t,jiu implies that there is enough time left to do other things;(5)when the adverb jiu refers to the quantity range,the quantity range of jiu is less than the speaker's expected value;(6)when the adverb jiu refers to the logical relation,the expression of jiu refers to the simple and clear logical relation,implying that a conclusion can be reached without thinking;(7)when the adverb jiu is related to certain emotional attitudes,jiu expresses the speaker's positive and sure feedback on a preset emotional attitude;(8)when the adverb jiu refers to a resolute emotional attitude,jiu express the speaker to a preset on the emotional attitude determination,unwavering feedback(This pragmatic context,often is:the speaker's behavior or attitude is opposed or inconsistent with common sense,and the speaker needs to emphasize his strong will and unwavering emotional attitude towards his ideas or practices);(9)when the adverb jiu refers to the tolerant emotional attitude,jiu expresses the speaker's tolerant and indifferent feedback on a preset emotional attitude.Based on the above nine basic pragmatics of adverb jiu,this paper designs and investigates the pragmatic teaching of adverb jiu to foreign students and TCFL teachers(including the questionnaire and interview),and through the analysis of the results of the survey,probes into the practical situation of pragmatic teaching of adverb jiu in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,including teaching content,teaching distribution,teaching difficulty,teaching obstacles,teaching methods and teaching effects.Based on the analysis of the survey results,four Suggestions are put forward for the pragmatic teaching of the adverb jiu in teaching Chinese as a foreign language:(1)in terms of the teaching content,make every effort to be comprehensive and accurate and avoid interference;(2)in terms of teaching allocation,it focuses on the primary stage,and repeats in the intermediate and advanced stages;(3)in terms of teaching emphasis,pragmatics(2)and(4)are the key and difficult points,which need to be paid more attention to;(4)in terms of teaching methods,language output environment should be created and multiple teaching methods should be combined.
