This translation report is based on the translation practice of the “Children” part of chapter 16 in the Children and Social Work Act 2017.The United Kingdom is the first country to legislate on children in the world.Therefore,understanding and learning British children's laws has certain reference significance to China's relevant laws.The author chose the Children and Social Work Act 2017 as the translation material to provide a useful translation material for Chinese scholars who want to understand the British Children's Law.In this translation report,the author first introduces the main content and the translation process of chapter 16 of the Children and Social Work Act 2017.Next,the author mainly discusses the translation of long sentences in the legal text.The author explains the definition,characteristics and main types of long sentences and sorts out the existing research on the translation of long sentences.Then,based on her own translation practice,the author summarizes the translation techniques of long sentences in the Children and Social Work Act 2017,in order to provide implications for legal translators.
