A Study On Narrative Ethics Of Hong Kong Kung Fu Comedy

Kung Fu comedy is a kind of film originated in Hong Kong in the mid and late 1970s.As a new style of swordsman movies,it not only presents a compatible aesthetic style that combines action and comedy,but also shows an ethical norm in its image narrative creation.It analyses and identifies the normative nature of this narrative ethic,which will change the ethical degradation in current Chinese film creation.The problem is of practical significance.In the past,the research on Kung Fu comedy focused on the category of genre creation,aesthetic style or ideology.Based on the expansion of domestic film ethics to the category of film research,this paper takes this as the background,and studies the ethical value of Kung Fu comedy from the perspective of narrative ethics by means of literature and image analysis.Firstly,the concepts of "narrative ethics" and "Kung Fu comedy" are defined.Then,through close reading and analysis of the four dimensions of the image narrative of Kung Fu comedy,including vision,hearing,time and space,the author tries to summarize the expression of its narrative ethics.It is found that Kung Fu comedy is comic in the aspects of lens movement,editing,scene design and voice control of Kung Fu comedy.Meanwhile,this comic treatment also dispelled the excessive violence factors in the martial arts scenes and became an ethical model to weaken the brutality of violence in action films.On the one hand,the narrative ethics of Kung Fu comedy is influenced by traditional Chinese culture such as martial arts culture and Confucian culture,showing typical chivalrous spirit and family ethics;on the other hand,it is also influenced by modem ideas in the context of Western capitalism.Traditional chivalrous spirit and family ethics have changed or even lost in the narrative expression,and begin to emphasize individual manifest.It is this kind of cultural exchange and collision between China and the West that forms Hong Kong's unique cultural background and at the same time maps into the image of Kung Fu comedy.Nowadays,there are a lot of ethical problems in domestic films.They come from the language of the film itself,such as excessive rendering of violent or pornographic scenes of images;from the film story itself,such as the writing of the relationship between immoral characters,the ending of films deviating from positive values,and so on.Sometimes,this ethical dilemma can also be presented as an ethical dilemma that is difficult to break through-art.The conflict between pursuit and moral observance.Among these problems,returning to the study of Kung Fu comedies in the 1970s,especially from the perspective of ethical value,is of great significance and value to the current film creation,even the development of the film industry and the value orientation of the audience.
