A Research Of The Elicitation And Significance From Li Yong's Calligraphy For My Creation

For almost two thousand years of history in Chinese calligraphy,there were countless calligraphers following Wang Xizhi,the supreme calligrapher of China.While among those calligraphers,people who can learn from Wang Xizhi and create his own style were in negligible quantity.In spite of this,some calligraphers did great job.Li Yong was one of the excellent followers.There were two reasons for Li Yong's achievement:The first was learning the calligraphy styles of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi,especially learning stone rubbing by transferring the calligraphy Huai Ren Ji Wang Sheng Jiao Xu from tablet inscriptions.The second was writing lots of epitaphs.Meanwhile,Huai Ren Ji Wang Sheng Jiao Xu was long in writing and abundant in words.So the outstanding calligraphy style and character pattern of Sheng Jiao Xu also laid a solid foundation for the formation of Li Yong's calligraphy style.With the support of the acquired basic skills of Wang Xizhi's calligraphy,Li Yong did not step into the eccentric posture style or go astray the traditional way,but produce his own unique style.Furthermore,Li Yong keenly kept up with the times.He inherited Emperor Taizong's calligraphy style which was integrating the semi cursive script into the stone rubbing.Li carried forward it and utilized his advantage in stone rubbing.Li Yong did not blindly follow in the footsteps of former people when learning calligraphy.He was so bold in innovation that his style differed from Wang Xizhi's beauty of neutralization style.He displayed his righteous character in his calligraphy and made his calligraphy very distinctive compared to others.His calligraphy was strong and vigorous,with unique,transverse,bold and unconstrained style.It was unlike the natural and unrestrained writing style of Wang Xizhi,the implicit and veiled writing style of Zhiyong,the courtly and gentle writing style of Yu Shinan,the fresh and elegant writing style of Li Shiming,and the refined and graceful writing style of Chu Suiliang.It created a liberal and powerful manner similar to the bold and generousmanner of Li Bai and Zhang Xu in the same time of Tang.Hence Li Yong's calligraphy manner was accorded with great Tang's splendor,and became an outstanding calligraphy in Tang Dynasty as well as a quite valuable supplement in traditional Chinese calligraphy.Li Yong has communal context with Wang Xizhi in calligraphy for he learned from Wang.And after Tang Dynasty,Li Yong's calligraphy became other calligraphers' focus and example.Besides,the magnificence of Li Yong's calligraphy also fitted well to the aesthetic standards of large space and grand exhibition hall and matched the ages phenomenon.Until now,it is still energetic and dynamic.When learning the calligraphy of Wang Xizhi I encountered so many problems.By thinking deeply and getting to know others experience,I found Li Yong did very well in learning it.And through learning Li Yong who I found Zhao Mengfu.Also,I got in touch with seal character in Qing dynasty.Finally,I presented the calligraphy combination of Li Yong,Zhao Mengfu and myself.This is a profound experience to me.Especially during the three-years preparation,I acquired the regular script of Zhao Mengfu and the seal character of Qing dynasty.The Zhao regular script "Qing Boyin · Lengyun Mipu,won the national third prize for the exhibition of the calligraphy and seal-carving among teachers and students.And the seal character"Humble Home" was displayed in Fujian 2018 the Fourth Calligraphy and Seal-carving Exhibition Watch Over Lanting.Being recognized,I am very gratified.
