Artistic development can be traced back to the Palaeolithic Age,and is developed into the post-modern art and contemporary art of the 20th century. With the development of the materialistic society and ideology, the single expression form of traditional abstract language becomes the mixed art form for concept expression, and another communication form with cognitive mission, following text and language.Great architectures in history are the well-organized frameworks of social life, rather than the simple mixture of materials;immortal sculptures and drawings are the symbolization of hope or fear of human beings;while different literature and music forms are the stylization of traditional concepts and ideological values of different ethnic groups at different historical periods. When tracing the significance in Today’s society or in the past, characteristics of such artistic media shall be considered. As the medium of expression at present,video-audio art is strongly pioneering, experimental and uncertain for the expression of interactive concepts, when integrated with modeling, color, light, shadow, sound, time, space and other artistic language forms.Taking the development status of experimental video-audio art as the background, and inspired by modern philosophy and semiotics, this paper aims at revealing the important role produced by the so-called pioneering and exploratory spirit of "experiments" on the cognitive value and academic value of the artistic thought of experimental video-audio art,by means of elaborating the concept and language form of experimental video-audio art, thus highlighting the important position of the audience or public at the presentation of the meaning of works. It stresses the importance of the artistic thought value of experimental video-audio art at present, thus drawing public attention to ideology.
