Yunnan province is located in the southwest border of China,with many mountains and rivers.As a whole,Yunnan's natural geographical environment is not conducive to traditional transportation and urban development.However,Yunnan's geographical location is very important.It borders Myanmar,Vietnam and other countries.It is the front line of China's relations with Southeast Asia and South Asian countries.In particular,Baoshan area occupies the bridgehead position with Southeast Asia and South Asian countries.Therefore,the central government has always attached importance to the development and construction of transportation and city in Baoshan area.In the Qing Dynasty,Yunnan was under the strong control of the unified regime,the traffic and urban construction here made great progress.Because of its important geographical location,Yongchang prefecture district has also strengthened its development and governance in this area.Therefore,the traditional transportation and cities in Yongchang prefecture of the Qing Dynasty presented a new development situation.This paper mainly discusses the development of traditional transportation and city in Yongchang prefecture district of the Qing Dynasty through four parts.The first part analyzes the special natural geographical environment of Yongchang prefecture district and its influence on traditional transportation and city in Yongchang prefecture district.This paper mainly analyzes the influence of the natural geographical conditions,such as climate and topography,on the location of traffic and city,the characteristics of traffic and urban development,etc.The second part mainly discusses the construction and development of traditional transportation and city in Yongchang prefecture district of Qing Dynasty.Among them,the construction of transportation mainly includes the post road,the bridge,the sentry post,xuns and tangs;The construction of the city includes the main city wall,the city gate,the moat,the city function building and so on.The construction of traditional transportation and city in Yongchang prefecture district of Qing Dynasty shows three obvious characteristics: the construction schedule shows obvious stages;the construction force shows obvious official nature;the degree of construction is more extensive.The third part mainly studies the spatial distribution characteristics of traditional traffic and city in Yongchang prefecture district of the Qing Dynasty.The traditional traffic distribution in Yongchang prefecture of the Qing Dynasty formed a traffic network system.The traditional traffic distribution in this area has formed the situation that the post road is the main road,the branch lines coexist between the prefectures and counties,and between villages and towns.In terms of urban spatial distribution,the urban interior space structure of Yongchang prefecture city in the Qing Dynasty was analyzed emphatically.At that time,the development level of Yongchang prefecture city was already high,and the urban interior also showed obvious functional zoning.The fourth part mainly discusses the influence of traffic on the development of the city in the Yongchang prefecture district of the Qing Dynasty.It discusses the role of traffic in promoting urban development from three aspects: the spatial distribution of major towns in the region,the spatial structure of the city and the development of urban functions.
