The Reach Of Stone Sculputre Devaraja Of Nanzhao-Dali Kingdom

During the period of Nanzhao-Dali Kingdom,the statue of King Bishamen was an important part of the stone carving in Yunnan.In recent years,there have been more and more studies on Buddhist statues in Yunnan.The Bishamen Heavenly King statue appeared more frequently in Nanzhao-Dali period.The reason and origin of this phenomenon are worth exploring.This article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter first introduces the belief of the king of Bishamon and combines the content of the Bishamon Heavenly King in the scriptures to explore the origin and function of the Bishamon Heavenly King.The second chapter expounds the evolution of Bishamon's image and the symbolic significance of the hand-held objects and their family members according to the relevant records in the Buddhist classics.The third chapter focuses on the existing statues of Bishamen Heavenly Kings in the Nanzhao-Dali Kingdom period.Based on the investigations,they learned that the locations are:Jianchuan Shibaoshan Grottoes,Jianchuan Jinhua Mountain,Jinning,Luquan and Kunming Museum.And Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture Museum.According to the analysis of the armor worn by King,the image features and common points are obtained,which proves that the time of King Wang' s construction dates from the late Tang Dynasty to the early Song Dynasty.Combining the historical background and geographical location of the Nanzhao-Dali Kingdom period and the influence of Tantric Buddhism during the period of Nanzhao-Dali Kingdom,explored the reasons for the introduction of the Bishamen belief and the reason why Bishamentian statue appeared in the Nanzhao-Dali Kingdom period.,and a brief comparison of the statues of the other kings of Bishamen in the same period.It is believed that the statues of kings in the period of Nanxun-Dali and those of statues of the king of Bishamen in Sichuan province are quite different.They are less affected by them,but instead they are associated with the Central Plains and Dunhuang.There are similarities,but for their own sake,they should be related to Yu Xi,the important place where the belief of the King of Bishamon spread.The main achievement of this article is to make a detailed arrangement of the statues of the Bishamen kings during the period of Nanzhao-Dali Kingdom.Through analysis of the king's statues and their holdings,this paper systematically combs out the statues of the Bishamen kings from Nanzhao to Dali.The characteristics of the times.
