Research On The Desire Theme Of Ning Hao Films

Ning hao,one of the most celebrated film directors of the new generation in China,who make his career symbol first as low-cost films with the victorious box office latter as famous comedies with Huabiao Award or Golden Horse Award.The reason of this achievement is just as his saying,My film is all about desire expect for The Green Grass Land.This thesis mainly research the cause,the presentation,along with the reflection of the Desire theme in Ning’s film.Firstly,Ning’s thought is independent and contemporary.The artistic style of ning’s films has a crisp and decisive metal character and a heavy rock texture.the cause of the Desire theme is the self-report,coupled with self-reference.Putting the Ning’s life experience into historical background,it can reveal the theme of desire from the 6th generation directors,and the global reference.Using the the Greimas narrative theory to compare the Ning’s film to the Western’s,it can found that Ning’s film provide a possible sinicization of the narrative method in the western films.Secondly,the presentation of Ning’s desire theme can be divided into several categories,such as materiality,lust,spirituality and so on.The cause of constructing the desire theme in Ning’s film is the mind that using the description to reflect the social change.The development of the constructing methods from Ning’s film most depend on the audience’s psychology.Last but not least,as we all know,there are two main characters of Jacques Lacan ‘s theory,the one is “the absent object”,the other is “autre”.However,causing the alienation of mentality in film characters,the law and the social views,as the “autre”,give the direct to the desire.Under the Zhou Mingqiang’s theory about objectives of communication,as a model,it can reveal the metaphor of public space and highway space in Ning’s film.Analyzing the theme of desire in Ning’s film with metallic,along with the successes and setbacks it suffered,this thesis can offer a deeper reflection on the topic that how to creating the production both high-quality and marketable in Chinese movie industry.
