Research On Psychological Security Ratio | | Posted on:2017-03-10 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Z Y Yang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2415330485491955 | Subject:Applied Psychology | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Safety needs is one of the basic needs of human beings.Psychological security has effects on both mental health of individuals and development of society.So,it is necessary to improve psychological security of human beings.However,it does not mean that the psychological security is always the more the better and the psychological insecurity is always the less the better.In fact,both psychological security and psychological insecurity have evolutionary adapting value.They work best when only the ratio of psychological security to psychological insecurity----psychological security ratio in an appropriate range.The study explored the optimal range of psychological security ratio in order to estimate the psychological security state and mental health level of individuals andto adjust the degree of psychological security and psychological insecurity quantitatively.The existing research has mainly adopted linear paradigm characterized by simplicity to study psychological security and psychological insecurity characterized by complicated and dynamic.Because of the limitations of linear paradigm,traditional linear methods are not suitable for explaining psychological phenomenon characterized by nonlinear.Nonlineardynamics method compensates the limitation of linear paradigm.Therefore,the study adopted nonlinear dynamics method to prove the existence of psychological security ratio and compute the optimal range of the psychological security ratio.Participants(N=130)completed online surveys three times a dayover 15 days.The main results as follows:(1)Psychological security ratio is an effective indicator to distinguish different level of mental health.It has an optimal range.The mean positivity ratios(t=-6.006***,P<0.001)and positive psychological capital(t=-10.031***,P<0.001)and rumination(t=3.050**,P<0.01)for psychological maturity individuals versus intermediate level of mental health individuals differed significantly in traditional linear terms.The trajectory of psychological maturity individuals and all the participants in phase space shows a chaotic attractor.The trajectory of intermediate level of mental health individuals in phase space shows a limit cycle.(2)The optimal range of psychological security ratio is 2.67 to 3.30.Psychological security ratio below 2.67 is associated with low level or intermediate level of mental health and low psychological security state.It means psychological disorder and human languishing.Psychological security ratio at or above 2.67 is associated with high level of mental health and high psychological security state.It means psychological maturity and human flourishing.The complex dynamics of flourishing show signs of disintegration at a psychological security ratio of 3.30.This suggests an upper limit of psychological security ratio at 3.30.Psychological security ratio at or above 3.30 is associated with the decline of psychological security state and mental health level. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | psychological security ratio, psychological security, psychological insecurity, nonlinear dynamics | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
