Being a higher cultural level group of Chinese society, graduate students willbecome main labors of future society. To investigate their sense of security, socialsupport and psychological well-being has far-reaching significance to personalgrowth, the development of educational undertaking, and the progress of the wholesociety. Relevant theories and researches indicate that both sense of security andsocial support play a key role on psychological well-being.The present research aims to understand the status quo of graduate students’sense of security and psychological well-being, and explore what kind of relationshipwill exist among the sense of security, social support and psychological well being.What we study not only to enrich the theory of psychological well-being, but toprovide some enlightens for students self growth and mental health education.Using the way of random sampling,400graduate students studying in sixdifferent universities in Kunming are investigated by using questionnaires of sense ofsecurity, social support and psychological well-being, and the main findings are asfollows:1. Graduate students’ levels of the sense of security, social support andpsychological well-being level are above the middle ones.2. Their senses of security significantly positive correlate with their socialsupport and psychological well-being, respectively.3. The sense of interpersonal security, and the feeling of certain control canaffect psychological well-being in a direct way, and they also can influencepsychological well-being in an indirect way, namely, social support play a medicaterole between the feeling of security and psychological well-being.4.The joint interpretation rate of interpersonal security, social support tostudents’ psychological well-being is35.6%.5. The gender main effect is remarkable on the positive relationship of PWB,fe- male graduate students gain more scores than male graduate students do.6. Source of students has a significant main effect on these factors asfollows:The environmental mastery level of rural graduate students is higher thanthat of small co-unty/town graduate students’s, and the purpose in life of the formeris also higher than that of city graduate students. In addition to,the purpose in life ofcity graduate stude-ents’ is higher than that of small county/towns’ graduatestudents’s.7. There exist significant main subject effects both on purpose in life and person-al growth. The sores of purpose in life and personal growth of medical graduatestude-nts’ are higher than those of liberal arts and Science graduate students. Medicalgradu-ate students’ have the highest score of psychological well-being.8. There exist significant grade main effects on social support and relevant facto-rs, such as subjective support, objective support and support utilization. The scores ofsocial support and objective support of grade one graduate students are higher thanth-ose of grade two graduate students, and the scores of grade three graduate students as-so higher than those of grade two graduate students. Moreover, the scores of subjecti-ve support and support utilization of grade one graduate students are higher thanthose of grade two graduate students.
