A Report On Translation Of Tianjin University News From The Perspective Of Skopos Theory

The quality of news translation determines the effectiveness of news dissemination.With the continuous development of globalization,international exchanges have increased and the role of news translation in communication has become increasingly prominent.This translation practice report is based on the materials translated by the author during the internship in the Publicity Department of Tianjin University.From the view of Skopos theory,the author makes a specific anlysis about the translation work,in order to explore scientific cconversion methods between source language and target language.Skopos theory makes the translators break through the constraints of the original text,and provides translators with a new translation ideas,which has played an important guiding role in news translation.All translations guided by Skopos theory should follow three basic principles: skopos,coherence and fidelity rule.Based on this,the communicative purposes of the translations can be maximized,translations can be more consistent with readers' reading thoughts and habits,and translator's goal can be achieved.There are four parts in this report: translation task description,translation process description,translation case analysis,and translation practice summary.These four parts shows the process of utilizing the Skopos theory to guide the practice and elevate the practice to a theoretical level.This translation practice further enhances translator's understanding of Skopos theory,improves the ability of news translation,and lays a solid foundation for the following translations.
