With the deepening of reform and opening up,China’s economy rockets up,and the trade industry is becoming more and more prosperous.As a kind of common practical text with legal effect,with the characteristics of both commercial and legal texts,contract’s importance is obvious.In order to guarantee the business activities can be conducted smoothly,it is more important to translate contracts accurately.This translation practice text is excerpted from the Ground Service Equipment Facilities Space Rental Agreement,with the characteristics of its language being formal,solemn and accurate.Under Eugene A.Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory,this paper discusses the translation skills and strategies of the text from the perspective of vocabulary,syntax and text so as to find out the problems of translation.The author will put forward opinions about that to get a summary of the translation practice.This paper includes five chapters.The First Chapter,Introduction,mainly describes the background information of the topic and the significance of the translation practice;the Second Chapter introduces the main characteristics of contract text,and makes a brief analysis of the stylistic features of this translation practice text from the perspective of vocabulary,syntax and text.What’s more,a brief overview of the Functional Equivalence Theory and its guiding significance to this translation practice text are made in this Chapter.The Third Chapter,the part of translation practice,describes the translation process.The Fourth Chapter is case analyses,making concrete analyses of the translation of this text from the perspective of vocabulary,syntax and text,which explains the applicability of Functional Equivalence Theory in practice.The Fifth Chapter is summary of the practice.Through the practice of translation,the author’s translation experience and deficiency will be summarized in this Chapter,which provides the experience for the future study and provides a feasible reference for the future translation of such texts. |
