Nowadays,the economic exchanges between countries are growing with each passing day,in which the international economic and trade contract is crucial to the successful cooperation between two companies with different language and culture background.Lots of foreign economic disputes are caused by the ambiguity of the contract drafting or the mistranslation from source language to target language.Therefore,to handle the features and the translation principles of the contract language are extremely important to draft and translate the international economic and trade contract.The translation report is based on the Contract for Sino-foreign Joint Venture between Jiangxi Rare Metals Tungsten Holdings Group Co.,Ltd.and H.C.Stark GmbH and Patent and Know-How License Agreement.The author has introduced the translation project,the translation process,and the main content of the source text,in which the author has taken plenty of examples,which has been respectively analyzed to support the arguments.Besides,the author also introduces Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory,which has played a theoretical role in the author's translation work.From this prospective,the author has adopted literal translation,liberal translation which includes shift of the voice,transition of different logical relationships and division of long and difficult sentences to achieve the functional equivalence between two languages.At last,the author has drew a conclusion about the acquisition of skills and experience and limitations,hoping to give some hints to the translation practice in the future.
