A Report On The Translation Of Concrete Plant International From The Perspective Of Toury’s Translation Norms

With the rapid development of concrete industry,the building system has changed significantly.As a platform to provide up-to-date information for the concrete industry,Concrete Plant International covers the contents of new equipment,technologies,products and safety issues of the leading concrete companies,which has a significant influence in the concrete industry.To a certain extent,the translation quality of Concrete Plant International reflects the quality and level of the magazine.Therefore,the Chinese translation of Concrete Plant International seems to be extremely important.This report includes four parts.The first part briefly introduces the background and significance of the translation project.The second part illustrates the translation process,including pre-translation preparation,translation procedure and post-proofreading.The third part contains the case studies,in which author firstly illustrates Toury’s Norm Theory,and then analyzes vocabulary and sentences translation of Concrete Plant International under the guidance of Toury’s Norm Theory.The fourth part summaries the gains and shortcomings of the translation practice.By setting the Chinese translation of Concrete Plant International as the research object,this paper aims to analyze the norms adopted in the translation practice from the perspective of Toury’s Norm Theory,so as to combine the theory with practice and contribute to the further research of information text translation.
