The Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK),despite the opposition of the international community,is committed to developing its nuclear weapons.Given the growing threats posed by DPRK's nuclear weapons,it is essential to persuade Pyongyang to freeze, reverse, and eventually eliminate its nuclear capabilities.Although the current contradiction has been eased, there is still a long way to go.This source material comes from Reordering Chinese Priorities on the Korean Peninsula, which was published on the website of the Center for Strategic and International Studies(CSIS).This material mainly discusses China-North Korea relations and nuclear power in North Korea,as well as the impacts on the future of the Peninsula.Based on the Li Changshuan's "Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation"(CEA)framework, the translator solves the comprehensive issues of historical background, terminologies and rhetorical devices through verification and consultation. As for expressive issues, faithfulness is the core way to avoid over-foreignization.However,usages are different in English and Chinese,so adaptation is necessary through the ways of condensation, amplification and conversion. To fully illustrate translation cases with the CEA framework, the translator improves language proficiency, increases knowledge reserves and enhances professional ethics, hoping that it will give some benefits to those who have interests in similar topics.
