On Lonely Writing In Su Tong's Novels

Su Tong is a writer who regards literature as a belief,and he is also a dazzling evergreen tree in contemporary Chinese literary circles.Since 1983,Su Tong has worked tirelessly in literary creation for more than 30 years,creating a large number of excellent works.Through reading Su Tong's works,solitary writing becomes a unique narrative element in his works.Su Tong said in his prose Short Stories,Some Elements that: "the unavoidable loneliness and self-help of the soul are the realities that people must face,and we and literary masters are concerned about such realities".For the writing of loneliness,there are many excellent works in the history of Chinese and foreign literature,such as Marquez's One Hundred Years of Loneliness,Carson Mc Cullers' s Heart Is a Lonely Hunter,Richard Yates' s Eleven Loneliness,Yu Dafu's image of the superfluous,the Lonely people in Lu Xun's Writings and so on.However,due to the different times and life experiences of the creators,these works show different loneliness.Su Tong's loneliness has its unique writing characteristics.Su Tong's lonely writing is closer to the inner spiritual texture of the individual because of his lonely experience of poverty and illness in childhood and his introverted personality.Su Tong tries to explore the deep spiritual mechanism of human nature from the perspective of loneliness.The solitary writing in Su Tong's novels should become an indispensable problem in the study of his creation.This paper,starting from loneliness,opens the gate of the lonely soul in Su Tong's works and explores the spiritual connotation of the lonely writing in Su Tong's novels.The paper is divided into three parts,mainly from the following aspects:The first part mainly combs the types of solitary writing in Su Tong's novels.The stylized loneliness in the novel includes four types: lonely youth of street teenagers,lonely confusion of urban vagrants,lonely struggle of classical pink,lonely predicament of men in pale marriages.These types of loneliness include the writer's grasp of the destiny of the characters.Young people who are not familiar with the world,migrants who seek dreams in cities,women in the windand rain,and men confined to marriage are all ordinary little people with a strong smoke smell of the city.Although they want to break away from the established state of existence,they fall into the lonely siege.The second part mainly discusses the loneliness image and its metaphorical expression in the text.Su Tong metaphorically expresses lonely writing through cold color image,dark space image and dream image.Cold color image is the representation of lonely image and gloomy heart in the novel.The use of cold color system makes the closed and painful mood in loneliness stand out.The image setting of the dark space in the novel provides a suitable field for the breeding of loneliness.And the image of the dream takes the inner world of the lonely person as a dream,expressing indescribably the unspeakable loneliness in the heart.The creation of each lonely image in the text ingeniously implies the lonely fate of the characters.The third part mainly discusses the spiritual fable of lonely writing.Returning to the historical field in the 1980 s and beyond,looking through Su Tong's whole creative process and penetrating into the text world of Su Tong's novels,the author finds the spiritual fable of Su Tong's novel's lonely writing.The solitary writing of Su Tong's novels has both strong individual self-consciousness and enthusiasm for exploring complex human nature.Su Tong examines the allegorical nature of loneliness from the spiritual dimension.The text shows the sense of loneliness,turbulence and floating of human spiritual homeland under the complicated times.Su Tong reveals the self-exile of human spirit under the impact of urban and rural civilization through the imaginative remodeling of ancestral villages and looking back on the conflict between cities and villages.With the transformation of literary creation,Su Tong exposed the fission of the times and the transformation of the society,and the neglected loss of human spirit driven by material desire.The characters in the novel try to get rid of loneliness by various means,whether they flee or return to their homeland,whether they bind others or confine themselves,they can not escape the siege of loneliness.Breakthrough failure is the tragic fate of the lonely,but the overburden of loneliness eventually leads to the alienation of human spirit.
