| President Xi Jinping put forward in the report of the Nineteenth National Congress the historical stages of the new era,which put forward new tasks and requirements for the development of film and cultural prosperity.Standing at a new historical starting point,the movies watched by Chinese audiences should express more positive values,ideological connotations,and cultural self-confidence.Previous studies have shown that: the positive emotions generated by people engaged in production and cultural entertainment activities can promote people’s cognition,ignite their thinking,counteract negative emotions,improve people’s ability to cope with stress,and improve people’s interpersonal communication.Then which kind of movie can make our audiences have positive emotions in the new era,how much they affect audiences’ emotions and how they affect audiences’ emotions,are the issues discussed in this study.The paper is written in five chapters according to the logic of description,interpretation and criticism.The first two chapters describe the theoretical background and research methods.The third chapter describes the data conclusions and current situation.The fourth and fifth chapters try to explain and criticize the causes of the present situation.In this study,the PANAS scale was used to measure the positive and negative emotions of audiences’ self-expressed feelings of watching movies by means of quantitative and qualitative analysis.By measuring the positive and negative emotions(positive and negative rates)brought to audiences by best-selling movies with strong influence and wide spread since the new era,this paper explores the positive degree of emotions conveyed by movies since the new era and the distribution of movies that bring people positive emotions.Then,we return to the movies themselves from the viewing samples to explore the causes of these distributions.To explore how to control the variables that affect the positive emotions of the film,at the end of this study,we summarize the distribution of the positive perception rate of bestselling movies in the new era,and quantify the distribution regular pattern.Combining the qualitative analysis of the sample of the positive perception,we summarize the main factors affecting the positive perception rate.By focusing at several main factors,we give directions and suggestions to improve the positive emotions brought by the movies to the audience. |
