On The Causes Of Moe Culture:Based On The Dramaturgy

The idea of becoming an ideal person appears between the lines in the book named The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life written by Erving Goffman.To be what you want is the starting point of the role and the foothold,and people continue to maintain the supporting role image.To a certain extent,it shows that people are unsatisfied with part of their social roles and want to escape.Moe culture clearly shows this point of view in the cultural phenomenon of daily life.Most of the participants of Moe culture are childlike and prefer to show the behavior of the young.The group of people with similar ideas constantly meet,assemble and decompose in communication,which makes Moe culture enter the public view.In the mainstream culture,people tend to criticize adult children,however,the childish of the adults is the key point of Moe culture.As far as I’m concerned,in the absence of a cultural presupposition,"adult children" is just a neutral word and an overview of existing phenomena.Erving Goffman thought that “It seems to me that the dramaturgical approach may constitute a fifth perspective,to be added to the technical,political,structural,and cultural perspectives.”,and inspired by this,my report will analyze the causes of the flourishing of Moe culture through mask(the roles played by participants),performer teams(groups)and audiences(the others).
