During the Tang and Five Dynasties,the influence of the Kang family at Dunhuang developed greatly.The origin of the Kang family at Dunhuang is the sogdians,The Kang family at Puchanghai is an important source of the Kang family at Dunhuang.The Kang family had accumulated some forces when they settled in Puchanghai.After they moved to Conghua township,their power base was still preserved.After the Tibetan occupied Dunhuang,the Conghua township was canceled,the spatial distribution of the Kang family was more dispersed than before,and the process of the sinicization was accelerated.During the reign of the Zhang family,thanks to the opportunity of Zhang Yichao's uprising,the force of the Kang family developed greatly,and many famous people came from the Kang family,such as Kang Tongxin and Kang Xianzhao.During the reign of the Cao family,The Kang family development was not as good as before,but they was still active in the political and buddhist fields.The decline of the Kang family has been revealed from the late period of the reign of the Zhang family.The evolution of the Kang family is also reflected in such aspects as spatial distribution,religious belief,marriage and grassroots social interaction.This paper also made a detailed textual research on the distribution of some Kang people in tribes and villages,analyzed the social activities of some Kang people,studied the relevant deeds of Kang Xianzhao,and made clear the monk position of Kang Xianzhao.
