| The Chinese ancient book culture has its unique artistic charm.Over the thousands of years,it has achieved the mature layout form,which is an increasingly precious quality with the progress of ages.The production of books in the Ming Dynasty can be regarded as a peak in the spread of ancient Chinese engraving printing.It has reached a very high level in all aspects covering print creation,layout form,material technology,printing technology,binding form and so on.Therefore,the engraving ancient books in the Ming Dynasty,which have rich and colorful images and texts,show not only grand image-text and varied layouts but also cultural depth and research value.From the perspective of visual communication design and using the literature research method,physical analysis method and comparative analysis method,this thesis analyzes the layout form of San Cai Tu Hui rivised by WangSiyi,from multi-dimension,like the creation background,writing content,layout arrangement,information hierarchy,typefaces and graphics as well as spatial hierarchy,trying to restore the contemporary book production context by combining the artistic background of the Ming Dynasty and by comparing with other ancient rare books.This thesis discusses the flexibility relationship of the layout under the guidance of modular design ideas,introduce the traditionalChinese creation thinking to analyze the cause of the beauty of the ancient book layout,and explore an effective way to realize the design of large-capacity information books.Through the research,the author draws the conclusion that the San Cai Tu Hui has found the accurate design language and grammar of the book from the aspects of design concept,editorial thought,and graphic arrangement,so that the readers feel the visual narrative structure with clear layers and pictures while reading.Finally,the author combines the multi-level philosophical thought with core creation concepts contained in the traditional Chinese ancient book layout and considers the current situation of modern layout design development in order to find a new way out for contemporary book design.It is hoped that through the trace of the cultural connotation and design ideas in the ancient book layout,more“Book Designers” realize that showing respect for tradition should not stay in the “ pattern ” of surface symbolization but bear in mind that tradition is the base of creation rather than pause.We must take its essence and combine the development trend of modern design with the needs of the market,so that Chinese books carry a profound cultural connotation,while constructing a modern new context of books that arouse the spirit of the times. |
