| The PiPa Concerto "Yun xiang·Hua xiang" is a commissioned work created by the renowned young composer Ms.Wang Danhong in 2013.Inspired by the verses "Her clothes like plumage and her face a rose,Spring breeze pets the rails and the belle in repose" from the Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai’s "Pure Peace Tune",the composer truly remains Li Bai’s pursuit for gorgeousness revealed by the poem and incisively and vividly reproduces the beautiful sights and belle in this work by exquisite notes.In this paper,the first chapter introduces the creative background about the work.The first part starts from discussing the Tang Dynasty,the golden age of Chinese poetry,and further looks into Li Bai and his three poems "Qing Ping Tune" to interpret the literary background of the music work.And then the second part offers the creative characteristics of the composer and the creation causes for the work to deeply study the humanities in the work and the music of Ms.Wang Danhong.In the second chapter,the author first examines the form structure of the concerto for pipa and piano version in detail,so as to build up the mastery of the music work in its entirety;secondly,based on the traditional Chinese cultural roots,the musical expression and cultural connotation of the work will be explored in terms of the use of modality,melody material and literary background.The third chapter begins with the performance techniques of pipa in the work and selects the characteristic fragments of music as examples to appreciate the emotional expressions flowed in the music.Furthermore,based on the author’s performance practices,the technical difficulties and breath(Qi)applications that may be encountered during the performance process will be demonstrated particularly to complete the overall performance analysis of the PiPa Concerto "Yun Xiang·Hua Xiang". |
