Tanizaki Jun’ichiro(1886-1965)is one of the most famous aestheticism writer in Japan.From the end of the Meiji period to the mid-Showa period after the Second World War,besides the war and the post-war period.Tanizaki continued abundant writing desire throughout his whole life,and obsessed with the pursuit of female beauty.Tanizaki occupied an important position in the Japanese literary because of many valuable works.For a long time,most researchers believe that Tanizaki’s creation can be roughly divided into three periods.Through the interpretation of Tanizaki’s literary works in different periods,we can find that the writing style of Tanizaki in different periods is largely embodied by the female images created in his works.Throughout the literary creation process of Tanizaki,the short story Tattoo in the early period is a born work of Tanizaki and making him famous.It is regarded as the starting point of Tanizaki literature.Among them,the beautiful girl he created has the beautiful body,which makes people dump and willing to become her fertilizer.Thus,the demonism begins.Shunkinsho is considered to be the representative work of female beauty.The image of the blind girl Shunkin is a combination of devil and classicism,which has the function of connecting the preceding and the following.If Shunkinsho marks the maturity of Tanizaki Junichiro’s literature,then Tanizaki’s female understanding will also be more abundant and rational.Subsequently,The Makioka Sisters marked the return of a creation of Japanese classical literature.The image of the four sisters is divided into different types,which is shaped by maturity and comprehensiveness.It reflects the female understanding of Tanizaki in each period.Undoubtedly,it is a summary and sublimation of the Tanizaki literary,and it is also the fullness and maturity of his female understanding.From Tattoo to Shunkinsho,then to The Makioka Sisters,the females in each period are intertwined.It can be said that the understanding of the female of Tanizaki begins with Tattoo,which is developed in Shunkinsho and matured in The Makioka Sisters.Therefore,this article will take Tattoo,Shunkinsho and The Makioka Sisters as a clue to interpret the female image and peep into the female understanding behind it.This article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is the beginning of Tanizaki’s female understanding——Tattoo.The first section is about the female image of the Tattoo.The second section is about the writer’s female understanding in the early period from the female image of the Tattoo.The third section is the continuation and development of the Tattoo.The second chapter is about the transformation of Tanizaki Jun’ichiro’s female understanding.The first section is the image of shunkin from sexual relations.The second section is about the transformation of the writer’s female understanding.The third section is the reason of the transformation.The last part of this article will mainly analyze establishment of Tanizaki’s female understanding.The first section is the four sisters in The Makioka Sisters,.The second section is the maturity of the writer’s female understanding on the basis of the first section,.The third section is about after The Makioka Sisters and analysis of Tanizaki’s later works.
