In the history of Japanese slogans, the 12 th year of the Showa to the 20 th year of the Showa(1937-45)was called the era of the national policy slogans. In the 12 th year of the Showa era(1937),the July 7 Incident broke out,and the Japanese Cabinet quickly launched the National Spiritual Mobilization Movement in the country. The slogan has become an important means of publicity as an effective way to mobilize the public.Various prefectures and counties in Japan began to produce slogans. The private sector began to establish slogan research associations and other organizations to strengthen the research and production of slogans. Some companies also printed these national slogans on commodities for sale, which promoted the spread of slogans. One hundred million, this figure indicating the population is used as a substitute for Japanese nationals in wartime and is frequently used in the national policy slogans.100 million people include not only the nationals of Japan at the time, but also the population of North Korea,Taiwan, and Huatai(that is,Sakhalin).Behind this figure is the growing population of Japan and its occupied areas since the Meiji Restoration. And the selfsatisfaction of rapid development and distortion. Also the "foundation" of Japan's aggression against China to establish a large East Asian co-prosperity circle. In the national policy slogans, the banner image commonly used referring to the country. The image related to the mind and the body, the words of forward, attack and defense, construction and development were also used to order to the spirit and body of 100 million nationals, expecting to maximize the mobilization. Now that the Second World War has passed for more than 70 years,Japanese national policy slogans were vanished from the historical arena. However,it cannot be denied that the national policy slogans,as a vivid slice of the war years,is still an important specimen for understanding and observing wartime Japan, and has profound research value.
