As the main tool of school education,textbooks have specific content and specific purposes.The state and the intellectual elite convey their ideas through the carrier of textbooks.The mass circulation of the people makes the influence of textbooks invisible,and the textbooks become the link between the country,the intellectual elite and the ordinary people.For the textbooks of various forms at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China,people pay more attention to the "new" part of the dissemination of new ideas and new ideas of the West,while ignoring the considerable content of the book that requires students to understand the traditional content.The “Wu Lun”(Five Ethics Thought of Confucianism)doctrines that contain the five relationships of "father and son,monarch,couple,young and old,friends" are quite important parts.The “Wu Lun”doctrine is the ethical pillar of traditional China and the basic orientation and moral relationship between people.Through organizing the rhetoric of the “Wu Lun” narratives in the textbooks of the end of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,the textbook editors explored the selection,organization,retelling and handling of the concept of moral principles,and examined the various people and things written around the“Wu Lun”in the textbook.How traditional ethical concepts have been described and transformed in modern China,and as a starting point to observe the complex picture of modern Chinese tradition and modern intertwined.
