| After the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895,the influx of new Japanese nouns ignited a discussion.The recent years’ s dictionary such as Ci Yuan and Ci Hai should be an indicator for us to observe the integration of Japanese new words into Chinese.However,in the big part of cultural conservatism,the dictionary actually adopted a roundabout strategy of avoiding the importance of lightness.On the one hand,it emphasized the origin of some Japanese words,on the other hand,it used Western language to translate the new words from Japanese.It cleverly catered to the social atmosphere of the time,and this practice also left some hidden dangers(Chen 2014).In response to this phenomenon,Chen(2014)listed the Dictionary of Literature and Art compiled by Sun Lianggong in 1928,and provided readers with some relevant Japanese dictionaries as a reference.However,Chen did not discuss further the specific relationship between them.There are also few preliminary studies on the relationship between the Dictionary of Literature and Art(Sun 1928)and Japan.On the basis of summarizing the previous research,this thesis discussed the relationship between the Dictionary of Literature and Art(Sun 1928)and Japanese literary and art dictionaries of the art expressions.Firstly,I found out the relevant Japanese dictionaries published before 1928,and then discussed the Japanese dictionaries that Sun was referring to when editing the dictionary from the aspects of illustrations and contents.Finally,I analyzed Sun’s attitudes and techniques when compiling the dictionary.As a result,as Chen(2014)stated,the position of the Japanese kanji part of the English-Japanese translation dictionary was taken as a new word in Chinese.However the three Japanese dictionaries listed by Chen are not all related to Sun Lianggong’s the Dictionary of Literature and Art.A large number of the translated books and dictionaries brought back by students from recent years of China who studied in Japan are valuable materials for modern years scientific research.In the face of complex recent years data,exploring its relationship with Japan has become our top priority.This not only helps us understand history,restores the historical truth,but also explores the process of vocabularyexchange between China and Japan,and even is an important reference for understanding the composition and changes of Chinese vocabulary.Through the comparison of Sun Lianggong’s the Dictionary of Literature and Art and Japanese related dictionaries,this paper unveiled some of the relations,with a view to making a little effort for related research. |
