In the history of sociology research,the sociology of body is one of the important branch.After years of continuous theoretical improvement and practice,it has gradually become a new research paradigm and research path,and has been a new way and to understand contemporary society.As a new research paradigm,the sociology of body is mainly from the aspects of structure and action to understand how body present and its social significance.This study chooses from the body,which is the basis of human existence and life,and takes the religious site as the specific observation field to explore the relationship between body and society and religion and society through the body’s view of Buddhism believers.In the process of religious practice,the body acts as an intermediary,connecting individuals,religion,and society.The body not only carries the social structural relationship,but also is the basis for action and experience.This study mainly discusses the body of Buddhism believers from three aspects: The first,the classic of Buddhism how to analysis the body,which is mainly consistent with the ultimate pursuit of Buddhism belief.In order to achieve the ultimate goal,Buddhism proposes a series of methods and norms about the body’s practice;the second,the body is the basis of religious practice,which is combined with social practice.In the long-term development process,the religious practice is closely related to the the believers’ daily life;the third,this study analyzes the concept of body and religious practice from three dimensions-religion,individual and society.This paper thinks that based on the traditional concept of body,the Buddhism believers regard the body as a practice tool,and the religious practice is closely integrated to daily life.Buddhism’s fundamental concept of the body is invariable,which is consistent with the ultimate goal of Buddhism,but the body’s content,the way and scope of body are changing,Which can be analyzed from three dimensions-Religion,Society and individual.First of all,from a religious point of view,in the process of Buddhism’s development,its fundamental goal has always been centered on the detaching self from the pain and Nirvana to be a Buddha.This is from the aspect of religion.Secondly,from the social dimension,Buddhism’s conception of the body and religious practice are Influenced by social development,and extend to multiple social dimensions,such as identity,interaction,and authority.In addition,individual factors are also an important direction.Individuals pay general attention to the body and gradually realize that the body is private and inviolable.In the process of religious practice,the individuals have their personal selectivity.
