Since the reform and opening up in China,science,technology,economy and culture have developed so rapidly,and especially under the impact of multimedia networks and other means of communication,that people's lifestyles have undergone enormous changes.This has led directly to the gradual disappearance of some traditional cultures in our country and even a complete loss of some artistic forms,including Wu'an Pingdiao&Laozi--a regional opera form in Handan city,Hebei Province.Wu'an Pingdiao and Wu'an Laozi,as two local opera dramas affected by the external environment and other factors in the course of their development,have merged into today's Wu'an Pingdiao&Laozi,which in 2006 became the first batch of intangible cultural heritage in Handan area.Based on the current research situation,the author applies the methods of literature research,comparative study,case analysis and field investigation and takes a relatively innovative research perspective,so as to make people get a more comprehensive understanding of the artistic charm of Wu'an Pingdiao&Laozi.Hopefully,by doing so,such a valuable drama form can be better inherited and developed.This paper is mainly made up of five chapters,of which the first chapter introduces the origin and significance of the topic,the status quo and methodology of the research concerning Wu'an Pingdiao&Laozi.The main body of the thesis is chapter 2~4.The second chapter analyzes the time of,and the reason for the integration of the two drama forms,starting from the origin and the three developments of Wu'an Pingdiao and Wu'an Laozi.The third chapter concerns the similarities and differences of the two drama forms in terms of accompaniment band,music,singing,lyrics and dialect characteristics,expounds the scene change in their development process,and introduced their respective characteristics of singing dialect and the lyrics by examples.The fourth chapter draws a comparison between Wu'an Pingdiao and Laozi regarding the three aspects of drama themes,performance figure and types of facial makeup,contrasts the performance artistic characteristics of the two,and thus illustrates the fact that although performed on the same stage for very long,they have distinctive performance styles.The fifth chapter summarizes the paper and prospects the future of Wu'an Pingdiao&Laozi.Suggestions for the inheritance and development of Wu'an Pingdiao&Laozi.Hope that this thesis,completed from a comparatively new point of view,can contribute to a more comprehensive research situation.
