"Wuwei(refraining from activity contrary to nature)"is one of the focuses in the Arguing Movement of Different Schools, and it is also a very popular subject in the areas of academic and politics, almost scholar who study Taoist gives some comments on it. On contrast, Confucius is always regarded as a man who will still make a try even he knows there would apparently be no result ,and he gradually becomes a model of person to pursue his ideal firmly, as a result, there are very few scholars who pay much attention to his "Wuwei"thought. But after a very careful study, we will find that as a great thinker, Confucius share similarities with Laozi, both of them attach great importance to the thought of "Wuwei", which is deeply embodied in many aspects of their respective thoughts, such as metaphysics, political thought and life thought. In this thesis, I try my best to deliberately observe the thought of Confucius, Laozi and the relation between them from the special visual angle of "Wuwei", and in turn, obtain a further understanding of the inner meaning of "Wuwei". Making further reseach on the "WUwei"thought of Confucius, making a clear comparison of the two great thinker's "Wuwei"thought. Then deeping the research on the necessarity and possibility of the mutual complementarity of the Confucian and Taoist on the basis of the former two points. What is more, from this thesis, we may also make a good understanding of the natural charicristics of Chinese culture, he living traits of the intellectuals of ancient China.
