This translation report is based on two passages from the first chapter of Shaping the Digital Enterprises: Trends and Use Cases in Digital Innovation and Transformation.These two passages are Digitalize or Drown which describes the importance of digitalization and The Business Consequences of a Digitally Transformed Economy which demonstrates the implication of five major digital technology trends on business.As a typical scientific and technology text,this text contains large amount of information,is highly professional and logical.Translation of metaphor is the major problem in the process of translation.According to the cognitive metaphor theory,metaphor is divided into two types:image schema metaphor and image metaphor.Literal translation and liberal translation are adopted in the translation of image schema translation.In terms of the translation of image metaphor,liberal translation,literal translation and conversion will be used in accordance with reader acceptance.The translation of imagery metaphors is handled by means of free translation and literal translation.For imagery translation,it is processed according to the degree of acceptance of imagery in the translated language,using literal translation,free translation and conversion.Through the above methods,we will try to solve the metaphor translation problem,make the translation smooth and accurate,and at the same time conform to the language habits of the readers of the translated language,and better convey the original information.All the efforts are aimed at overcoming the difficulties of metaphor translation and producing an accurate,fluent and reader-friendly translation.This translation practice gives translator a deeper understanding of the translation of scientific and technology text.It is hoped that this report can serve as a reference to the future translation practice of scientific and technology text.
