| With the trend of the development of vocational education with Chinese characteristics,the vocational English teaching focuses on a more practical goal.The aim of English teaching lies in cultivating students’ ability of communicating in English,which demands the change of English teaching methods on the basis of the characteristics of vocational high school students.Context teaching meets the demands of vocational English teaching.Based on context language teaching theory,communicative teaching theory and socio-constructivist learning theory,the paper analyses the feasibility and values of context teaching in improving the ability of communicating in English.Combining with the action research of L class in T vocational high school in ZhouShan through observation and interview,the researcher tries to explore some effective ways to improve the students’ communicative ability of English in vocational high school.This paper can be divided into three parts:The first part is chapter one,two and three.They are the theoretical basis of this paper.Chapter one mainly introduces the research background,significance and research methods.Chapter two introduces some relative researches of training and developing of students’ communicative ability as well as context teaching method at home and abroad,including the conception,influence factors,design and conduct of context teaching method in cultivating communicative ability.Chapter three is the theoretical basis: context teaching theory,communicative teaching theory and socio-constructivist learning theory provide a solid basis for this research.The second part is chapter four and five.Chapter four is the process of this action research.Using classroom observation and interviews to collect date,the researcher develops action research for four months(three rounds)in T vocational high school in Zhoushan,aiming to sum up effective strategies to improve students’ communicative ability of English via context teaching method in vocational high school.Chapter five is the suggestion,based on the previous research,the researcher proposes some strategies to promote students’ communicative ability of English via context teaching method.The third part is chapter six.It is the conclusion of this paper,proposing the shortcoming and prospect of this paper.This paper aims to analyze the development of students’ communicative ability of English via context teaching method,hopes to help more English educators understand more about context teaching method,and apply it to practical English classroom teaching so that training of students’ communicative ability in English classroom can be implemented effectively. |
