Language is an important tool for us to engage in social communication,and pronunciation is one of the major components of language and plays a very important role.The natural and standard English lays a good foundation for effective communication.Therefore,English pronunciation teaching is very important.However,through surveys,it is found that there are many problems in students' pronunciation in vocational schools.They don't get standardized instructional guidance and enough language practice.Pronunciation teaching does not receive adequate class time guarantees.Under the background of vocational education with selective curriculum reform and occupational demand for vocational school students,this paper carries out the research on the development of the optional course of English pronunciation in vocational school,aiming to develop English pronunciation teaching material based on the needs of vocational school students and explore effective principles,strategies and model of pronunciation teaching.Through curriculum development practice,the construction of pronunciation optional course resources will be promoted,making it a useful complement to English teaching,improving students' English pronunciation level and English proficiency.This study focuses on the development of English pronunciation optional courses and solves three problems: 1.How to develop English pronunciation teaching material suitable for students in vocational school for current pronunciation teaching problems?2.What kind of teaching mode should be adopted in the pronunciation optional course teaching? 3.In the course of curriculum development,how should we promote the construction of curriculum recourses?This study used the literature method,questionnaire survey and test.We put forward the teaching mode of combining student-centered learning,independent learning and cooperative learning according to the theory of multiple intelligences and constructivism.We will develop English pronunciation teaching materials for vocational school students and promote optional course resources through the development of website,second classroom construction and teaching and research activities during the curriculumdevelopment process.We sum up the experience of curriculum development and analyze the deficiencies through the evaluation of teaching and curriculum construction.The thesis is divided into six chapters.The first chapter describes the research background,research methods,purpose and significance.The second chapter summarizes the con-cept of optional courses and summarizes the research status at home and abroad.The third chapter discusses the theory foundation of this paper which is multiple intelligence theory and constructivism theory.Chapters 4 and 5 are the core of this thesis.The fourth chapter focuses on the development of English pronunciation optional courses in vocational schools.It focuses on the development of guiding ideology,principles,process and resources construction.The fifth chapter mainly elaborates specific implementation from several aspects such as pronunciation teaching principle,strategy,mode,teaching case and so on.Evaluation methods include teaching evaluation and course construction evaluation.The sixth chapter mainly summarizes the achievements and analyzes the deficiencies in th e theory and practice existing in the study.
