Research On Theatre Poster Design

Drama is a kind of comprehensive performance art.During the process of publicity and popularization of drama,theatre posters play a significant role,which can be put on the public places with many people including theatre,square and station,published on the mess media such as newspapers,magazines and so on,or even quickly spread worldwide through the Internet in order to make the drama publicized widely.It has a positive significance to the development of drama.The article started with the concept of drama and theatre posters,summarizing their characteristics respectively,seeking for their integration point,and specifically analyzing the role which theatre posters played in expanding promotion,generalizing works and meeting people's aesthetic demand.Secondly,combined various typical cases to sum up several common skills in the design of theatre posters: the symbolization of production names,characterization of the images,scenarist plots,enlarging the stage property,and colorful atmosphere.In the end,on the basis of research and analysis,citing the drama ‘12 Angry Men',the theme positioning,audience positioning and style positioning were decided.According to the design principle of the symbolism of "profound meaning",the generality of "less is more" and the interaction of "common participation",the visual expression of the specific poster design creativity was carried out.It included imagery refinement,word design,composition arrangement and color rendering the four aspects.Then it summarized the poster design innovation ideas of this work,which provided a reference for future theatre posters research and practice.
