Oil painting is an exotic art of artistic expression.Nowadays China emphasis national confidence and culture confidence,so how to coalesce Chinese traditional elements and absorb the essence of Chinese traditional culture into oil painting creation become an important question for discussion.In this article,I chose Portrait Seal which is Chinese traditional art form as my research subject.Exploring it’s culture characteristics and image feature,and the feasibility and reference significance of combin it with individual oil painting creation.In China there are not so much research about Portrait Seal and Oil painting.Portrait Seal is one kind of seal about depict something which is similar as it is.It has extensive contents and various themes and rich culture connotation.Writer has been interested in calligraphy and seal cutting for a long time,in the course of research and learning,I found that there are some enlightenment in Portrait Seal will help oil painting creation.Therefore,this article start from tease out the origin and development and artistic characteristic of’Portrait Seal,to explore the cultural features and image features of Portrait Seal imprint on the practice of personal oil painting.In the end of this article i will combining with my own oil painting creation experience explore and study Portrait Seal’s reference to individual oil painting creation.
