Characteristic Analysis And Translation Strategies Of Post-game Interview Texts Of 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games

CCTV obtained the exclusive broadcasting rights of 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games.I was lucky to participate in CCTV's reporting of PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games,and was responsible for the translation of text of post-game interviews of medal-winning athletes.After finishing the task,I've studied related principles and means of the theory of translation variations,and found that this theory was widely applied in this project.Based on this,I analyzed the linguistic characteristics of interview texts in this paper.I've found that the text of post-game interviews of 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games contains a large amount of background and cultural information,and the medal-winning athletes speak informal oral language,which features repetitions,messy logics,omission,and emotional information.Based on the theory of translation variations and analyses of the characteristics of interview texts,this paper proposes relevant translation strategies,such as syntactic linearity,re-organization,addition and omission,and discusses the application of these strategies in the practice through case analysis and comparisonThis paper aims to summarize translation theories applied in the translation of post-game interviews of 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games,makes up the blank in the academic researches of sports-related interview translation,and may offer reference and guidance to future projects.
