The Study On Body Narrative In Kafka's Stories

With the rise of body theory,the study of body appears in various fields.The literary narrative function of body itself makes body theory enter the literary field and hence included in the research category of narratology.The combination of body research and classical narratology forms body narratology,which studies the role and significance of body in narration.This theory provides a new perspective for literary criticism.As the pioneer of western modernist literature,Franz Kafka(July 3,1883-June 3,1924)is one of the most influential writers in the twentieth century.The ambiguity of Kafka's works leaves infinite space for literary criticism.And the great prosperity and the development of reason and technology have also accelerated the separation of body with the outside world.The isolated body has lost the intrinsic attribute and has become hollow.In the work,Kafka has deeply reflected the austere physical predicament human face.Therefore,interpreting the body in the novel can not only help to more comprehensively understand the connotation of Kafka's novels,but also has had certain enlightenment function to the physical predicament the present era faces.This article takes the body as the entry,utilizes the means of attentive reading and induction and summarization to try to conduct a more comprehensive analysis on the body and the body narrative in Kafka's novels based on relevant theories about the body and body narrative.The specific discussion in the article can be divided into four parts:The first part introduces the current study status of Kafka's novels at first and later sorts out relevant theories about body and the body narrative,as well as the significance and limitation of the topic.The second part starts from the main layer of sickness,deformation,hunger and the punished main symbols to display the four body patterns of sickness,deformation,hunger and punishment from right.The social and individual problems are presented through the body.The third part focuses on analyzing the strategy of body narrative in Kafka's novels,which is mainly developed from four aspects: 1.Body alienation in the novel has been the narrative power and promotes the development of the story;2.Shape the body tension between contradiction and paradox,which makes the story have intrinsic interpretation space;3.Kafka has shaped the objective existence of the individual body with the creative attitude of zero narrative.The real and objective body has been the premise for the development of the story.But behind the objective narrative,Kafka intended to show the uncertain existence experience of the body in the disorderd world constructed by modern language;4.mutually construct the space and body.The closed space is broken,which has compared the exposed and expelled body.The inaccessibility of infinite space symbolizes the failure of the self-transcendence.The body is confined in the waiting place in the limitless space,which has presented the body's real experience and recognition to the broken and strange world.The final part has discussed the value of body narrative in Kafka's novels.The aesthetics value of Kafka's novels is that the writer's body narration has deconstructed the grand narrative in the traditional narrative and utilizes ugliness appreciation discourses to express the body,which not only really reappears the existence status of broken and fallen body,but also makes the appreciation discourses show extraordinary talents in the aesthetics field.Kafka has displayed the unnerving experience and all kinds of dilemmas of the body existence.Body narrative,as a narrative method,not only displays the writer's excellent writing skills,but also undertakes the writer's care about the fate of human,which takes the body as the basis of existence.In the end,Kafka's body narrative shows the writer's building the physically philosophical thought of the syncretism of body and mind,as well as exploring the essential attribute of the creativity and surpassing of the body in the refutation of body subjective theory.Body narrative is not only Kafka's literature imagination,but also the representation of the physiological thought of Kafka's exploring human fate.
