This paper mainly discusses the lack of Chinese mythology in Chinese oil painting art and its feasibility.The myth in the title of this article also refers to Chinese mythMyth,as an important part of Chinese culture,is one of the initial elements of Chinese culture and the cradle of Chinese culture and art.From ancient times till now,various kinds of literary works with myth as the theme emerge in endlessly in China.Oil painting,as one of the most important easel paintings in China,has rarely been described and created in the early period since its development Although there have been some mythical paintings recently,they have little influence.This paper analyses this phenomenon and problem and demonstrates its feasibility.It is hoped that this study will contribute to the theoretical support of the application of Chinese mythology in Chinese oil painting artThis paper consults relevant literature,books,journals,academic papers and network-related information,using literature sorting,comparative analysis,creative inquiry research methods.Firstly,the characteristics of Chinese mythology and its importance in today's society are elaborated.This paper states the phenomenon of the lack of Myth theme in Chinese oil painting art and analyses the reasons from two aspects:Chinese myth itself and Chinese oil painting.Then it demonstrates the feasibility of the application of Chinese mythological themes in Chinese oil paintings.Finally,it lists the application of Chinese mythology in other art categories in China,and illustrates the application methods of mythological theme creation combined with my own creationThrough the research on the topic,we can confirm the real existence of its phenomenon.And it is feasible to use Chinese myth in Chinese oil painting art,which can enrich the theme of oil painting art creation and improve the soft power of national culture in line with the current trend of cultural value.
