A Study On The Interpretation Of Words

Words are the combination of words and phrases,and are the smallest form of word structure to form sentences and articles.There are a large number of words in Chinese.According to statistics,the number of words in the Chinese dictionary is about 520,000;Meanwhile,the interpretation of words is a common concern of language learners.Determining the meaning of words is also the basic requirement of word application,so the issue of interpretation of words has high research value.Through the study and use of words in Modern Chinese Dictionary,the author can still find that there are many unreasonable phenomena such as incomplete or redundant interpretation of words in dictionaries,and the unreasonable interpretation of words.In this paper,according to the needs of Chinese learners and users,as well as the problems that often occur in the use of Chinese words,the author makes a concrete analysis of the words interpretation.As a reference book for Chinese learning,the Modern Chinese Dictionary contains modern Chinese vocabulary in a more comprehensive way.Therefore,in this paper,the author takes the latest edition of Modern Chinese Dictionary as the object to study,makes exhaustive collation of Chinese words,explores the problem of word interpretation and puts forward targeted solutions,standardizes the interpretation of words,and provides precise reference for the application and teaching of words.The paper includes the following five sections:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly describes the research purpose and research significance of this paper,and explains the research methods and research ideas applied in this paper.At the same time,this chapter also analyzes the interpretation methods of words and the research results in dictionary compilation.Through the summary of previous studies,this chapter analyzes the shortcomings and points that can be reference,which provides the basis for the research of this paper.The chapter two introduces the methods of word interpretation,namely,how to define the meaning of words as equal or different,and introduces the methods of word interpretation through examples.This paper gives examples from three word classes:noun,verb and adjective.This chapter lays the theoretical foundation of the full text,and it is also the reference standard for word analysis later,which is an important part of the study of word interpretation.The chapter three focuses on three kinds of problems in Modem Chinese Dictionary(7th edition),namely,segregation and merging of meanings and circular definition.And for these three types of problems,a large number of related examples are found in the Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)for analysis in chapter three.Through the reference criteria mentioned above,it accurately analyzes the content and interpretation of word meanings,and classifies and interprets them according to the categories and parts of speech of the problem of word meanings.This chapter is the main content of this paper.The fourth chapter analyzes the causes of the problem of word interpretation,and on the basis of the analysis of the problem,puts forward some concrete suggestions on the solution of the problem of separating and merging of semantic and circular definition of words.There are three main causes for the problem of word interpretation,namely,the characteristics of language itself and the imprecise logic of its application,as well as the different meanings of language in different linguistic contexts.Analyzing the previous issues in this paper so as to propose better re-visions.For the problems mentioned in this paper,the author improves them through word writing and word application,and the problem is put forward to solve the problem better.This chapter proposes a targeted solution based on the problems explained in the previous article,in order to improve the content of the dictionary,standardize the interpretation of words,and improve the accuracy of the use of words.The fifth chapter aims to concluding,which summarizes the main conclusions of this paper,points out the shortcomings of the study,and puts forward suggestions and prospects for future research on words.
